General Program Questions

Why choose an enrichment program?

Research shows that Enrichment Programs improve education by fostering development and curiosity in children. It gives them access to opportunities that enhance their learning or ignite a passion and helps to develop confidence and improve social skills from a very early age. 

Who can attend?

Students of the school where Enrichment programs are held.

What classes can my child attend?

Any class that applies to your child’s current grade.

How can I view specific details about a class?

Click on the class name for more information including the class description, participant grades, price and dates.

When and where are classes held?

Classes are held after school on-site at Westgate ES - 3:40-4:40pm.

What days do programs run?

Classes are held on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays & Fridays.

Who teaches classes?

Baroody Camps partners with a variety of local vendors, instructors and teachers to provide quality enrichment programs to students. All vendors teaching at Westgate are FCPS approved independent contractors (IC).

If a class is full, can I join the waitlist?

Yes! Select the “join the waitlist” button near the class name and enter your information. If a spot opens up, we will email families with an online manual registration form.

Can I register my child late?

Yes. If there is space available in the class, late registrations will be accepted. Please email us at [email protected]. Please note: after the first week, some classes might not be available for late registrations.

If a class does not meet the minimum number of students, what happens?

Each class has a minimum number of students it must hit to run. If the class does not meet this minimum, it will be cancelled. Families will be notified and will be given the opportunity to transfer the paid fees and join another class (or request a full refund).

Financial Aid & Special Needs Questions

Is financial aid available?

Yes! The Westgate PTA and Baroody Camps are committed to ensuring that after-school enrichment opportunities are available to all students. Baroody Camps has agreed to offer financial aid for classes at a reduced rate to interested & qualified families.

How do I apply for financial aid?

To be considered for financial aid, please indicate your request on the registration form.

Who qualifies for financial aid?

To qualify for financial aid, a child must be the recipient of a free or reduced lunch certificate. If you do not qualify for financial aid but are experiencing financial hardship, please email us at [email protected].

What if my child has special needs?

If your child has special needs, please indicate their need on the registration form. We may reach out for additional information regarding how we can support your child.

Payments, Cancellations & Refund Questions

How much do classes cost?

Class prices vary and are listed for each class on the main season page. For more information, click on the class name on the session tab.

What are my payment options?

We are happy to discuss payment options with families. Please email us at [email protected].

How will I know if my registration is complete or went through?

Once your registration has been submitted, you will receive an automated confirmation email. If you do not receive the confirmation email, please log in to your account and check your cart. If your registration(s) are still in your account, please enter your payment information and re-submit.

What is the refund/cancellation policy?

We will issue full refunds for cancellations requested before the class begins. After classes begin, refunds may be issued at a prorated amount or for a credit (towards future programs) based on the circumstances. For any cancellations or refunds, please email us at [email protected]. 

What if a class is cancelled due to weather or other issues?

If a class is cancelled due to weather or unforeseen circumstances, we will notify families and will make every effort to schedule a make-up class. If we are unable to reschedule the class, a prorated refund will be issued for the missed class.

Where can I find information I need for my taxes or Flex Spending Account?

To download a dependent care receipt, log into your account and select the 3 lined box at the top right corner. Select "reports" then "dependent care receipt." Enter the search criteria and view report. Our tax ID is 20-8328473.

What if I am not able to pay online?

If you are unable to pay online, please email us at [email protected]. Please visit the Registration Tips tab (Tech tips) for helpful registration information.

How do I apply a family credit from a previous program?

At this time, family credits can only be applied through Baroody Camps. Please email us at [email protected].

Who do I contact if I have any questions or concerns regarding payment, cancellations and refunds?

On-Site Questions

How will my student get to enrichment classes?

Before each session begins, teachers will receive a list of their students who are participating in enrichment programs. Students should walk to their enrichment program classroom after school.

Please note: We ask teachers to remind all of their students participating but they are not required. Children are responsible for knowing when their classes are and for going there immediately after school dismissal on those days. Baroody Camps, the Westgate staff nor the PTA is responsible for a child who goes home instead of to class. It is the parent responsibility to have a plan in place for that situation. In addition, parents must make arrangements for their child's care immediately following the end of the after-school class.

What is the dismissal process after enrichment classes are over?

After class, program instructors will walk SACC students to their location (Door #2 - SACC Door) and will walk the remaining students to be dismissed out Door #2 (SACC Door). This door is the first door you see when you enter the Kiss and Ride loop. The Baroody On-Site Coordinator will be monitoring pick up to ensure children get into the appropriate car safely.

**As a reminder - please do not park directly in the front Door #2 as this causes a back up out to Magarity Road.

Will there be a bus after programs?

No. There is no bus following after-school enrichment programs at Westgate.

What should I do if I will be late to pick up my child from after school enrichment?

Pick up time is at 4:50pm. If you anticipate being late to pick up your child, please call your On-Site Coordinator.

What should I do if my child will be absent from an enrichment class?

If your child will be absent from after school classes, we ask that you notify us at [email protected]. Please indicate your school, child's name and class.

Are snacks provided for students after school?

Snacks are NOT permitted during after school enrichment classes at Westgate. For more information, please visit the Policies & Procedures tab.

What if my child has an allergy or requires medication?

Please indicate your child’s allergy and treatment at the time of registration. If your child requires medication, please fill out form HERE. All of our On-Site Coordinators are certified in CPR/AED/First Aid and are Medication Administration Trained (MAT).
